Parabole Chair by Davy Grosemans for Aether/Mass

Chairs have been used since antiquity, although for many centuries it was a symbolic article of state and dignity rather than an article for ordinary use. The design of the Parabole Chair refers to this original function of a “throne”.

The name of the chair refers to the distinctive detail of the back rest. By hollowing out the wood, a juxtaposition is created between the solidity of the material and the negative, empty space of the curvature.
